Scrapbook Retreat 2011

this weekend was deliciously relaxing.
i had a wonderful time with friends, sharing and laughing together.
i haven't laughed that hard in a very long time.
they made fun of my little snort at the end of my laugh,
but they did it out of love :)

we see deer every year.
we went on gorgeous walks.
we had delectable treats like coconut cake, a grilled cheese bar, and brownies.
i made cookie dough truffles from the recipe girl -thanks Molly for the tip!

we watched several movies full of tears and laughter.
who could forget this scene from when harry met sally?

my space:

3 nights, 4 days was a great break for this mama - the only emergency room trip the surfer guy had to make was to remove the ear piece of his phone headset out of Brockman's nose! i was sad that i wasn't there to hold him, but he didn't cry - he was very brave the ER doc said.

have you ever been on a scrapbook retreat?
do you ever get the chance to get away with your friends?

i hope you had a wonderful weekend and have a fabulous week!
xoxo,

  1. That sounds SO heavenly! And I love the layout - so fun! I have never been on a scrapbooking retreat but I have a vacation day coming up and the hubby is going to take our boys to their grandma's house for the whole day so I can create. Can't wait! :)

  2. I've always wanted to go on a scrapbook retreat but I can never get any friends to go with me and I can't pay for the hotel room alone, and am a little weirded out about sharing a room with strangers. Soooo...I guess I'll just wait and hope that my friends change their minds!

  3. How fun! I don't even scrapbook, but think that I'd really enjoy it. Especially when you throw friends, coffee, and movies into the mix. :)

  4. oh my goodness! how did a headphone ear piece end up in your little boy's nose?

(silly question-- little boys LOVE to stick things in their nose)

So glad you had a refreshing weekend!

  5. Loved spending time with you girls this weekend. Loved the movies. Loved the 58 pages I completed. Loved the food. Loved the chocolate-chip Schweaty Balls. Sigh. I want to go back now! :-)

  7. So glad you got a break to do something you love. Cant believe your kiddo had to go to the ER. One of boys stuck a lego up his nose last month and I really thought we were going to have to go to the ER until I got it out at last. I get away with a group of girls to Palm Springs once a year. Love it!

  9. Oh I want to go on one so bad!!! I don't get a lot of overnighters with friends but I'm working on being more deliberate about that. It looks like so much fun ;)

  11. I haven't ever been away for a multiday scrapbook retreat but this weekend I'm heading off to a Friday Night Crop at Archivers and while it's just a few hours with my friend and all our gear it certainly is fun :) We try to go once a month - although it's often only once every two to two and a half months and even just that little bit is such lovely "me" time!
